Job Description:

The Planning and Scheduling Director will manage the Planning group to execute the sourcing strategy of the Company by maintaining and developing a supply chain of raw materials and finished product through an international network of suppliers that supports demand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Extensive understanding and use of Oracle 11i  to manage movements and visibility of an international supply chain across multiple business operations.

Logistics Manager

Technical Buyer Position

Manage all aspects of site procurement (services, capital, and MRO), including utilization of business integration and pipeline systems, participation in site and unit cost initiatives and development of efficient response strategies. You will supervise a group of   8-12.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Procure goods, and services for the site, which includes coordination of bid activities, vendor selections, negotiating, and contract writing. Analyze and communicate results, and track vendor performance.

  • Develop and manage vendor relationships which ensure quality performance and mutuality of benefits. Negotiate price, delivery and quality issues. Insure maintenance of proper vendor files, including insurance certificates and confidentiality agreements.

  • Directly manage buying coordinators and all aspects of MRO procurement, which may include working with a third party vendor.

  • Participate in all activities between National Office Commercial Department and the Company’s  Technical Buyers as requested.

  • Work closely with Engineering to ensure proper activities and procedures are being maintained in the CAB through Purchase Order process.

  • Analyze and compute overall investment in MRO inventory to ensure the inventory is within established guidelines (turns, safety stock, accuracy, value, Commercial Service Level), and publish performance reports.

  • Develop, negotiate, implement and manage cost-effective contracts. Develop additional buying strategies that promote cost effective purchasing decisions supporting and fulfilling site requirements in an efficient manner.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in business, engineering or related field preferred.
    CPM preferred.

  • Minimum of three years buying experience with previous management experience.

  • Basic understanding of equipment, having familiarity with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic related parts/functions, with the ability to seek out experts in these areas as needed.

  • Familiarity with inventory control, accounting, expediting and production concepts and processes.

  • Broad overall knowledge of purchasing, manufacturing, engineering or maintenance.

  • Functional understanding of current communication technology i.e.: e-commerce, EDI, etc.

  • Must be a sophisticated computer user with demonstrated skill in spreadsheet, word-processing and database applications.
